The overall boat of the year will be selected by scoring the highest point tally from five regattas or series from the following "menu" of possible races:
Tier I racing (a minimum of 3 of the following shall be counted)

Tier II racing (a maximum of 2 of the following may be counted)

Tier III racing (a maximum of 1 of the following may be counted)
| Any board approved regatta or event where a boat may have represented the club (i.e. NOODs, Class Nationals, other race week, North American Championships, etc. |

Eligibility:
In order to be eligible for boat of the year consideration, a boat nust carry a full member if of the DYC, pay all pertinent dues and fees, and compete in a minimum of three tier I events. To be scored for an event(series) said boat must compete in greater than 50% of the sailed races within event(series).
Scoring:
Scoring will be based on a high point scoring system. Results will be graded with regard to quality based upon the number of boats within a class. This grading is accounted for withiin the high point scoring software, For specific questions about this software, contact Steve Henry.
